The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi attended the graduation ceremony of the Naval Officers Course and stressed the importance of a powerful army.

“The challenges that we face remind us that even in these times, we must continue to reinforce the power of the IDF (Zahal) as a strong and independent army that can succeed in deterring and overcoming all threats, near and far,” remarked Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi during his speech at a graduation ceremony of the Naval Officers Course
“Like everyone in the IDF (Zahal), the Naval Corps is also part of the struggle against various terrorist organizations and their supporters”, said the Chief of the General Staff and continued, “In this struggle we are measured not only by our success in preventing terrorism but also on our ability to salvage our principles while in combat, the heritage of the IDF (Zahal) and the moral code of Israeli society.” As the head of the IDF (Zahal), the Chief of the General Staff has made a commitment to the ethical code and moral values that have been the foundation of the IDF (Zahal) for years; it will continue to lead us. “Only this way can we maintain the status of the IDF (Zahal) as the forefront of Israeli society.”
The Naval Officers Course ceremony took place at the Haifa Naval Corps training base and the cadets will begin their duties in the next few days. The course, which lasts 28 months, prepares cadets to become officers in the different combat units of the Naval Corps.
