Terming it a single and irregular incident that does not represent the entire Bedouin community, Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Moshe Ya’alon has released comments on the recently disclosed case of an IDF officer accused of espionage.

According to Ya’alon, the Bedouin community’s contribution to the security of the State of Israel is continuous and proven.

The Chief of the General Staff emphasized that the IDF cherishes and appreciates the contribution of the Bedouin community, which shares in the burden of fighting as an inseparable part of the IDF and the Security Forces.

Throughout the history of the State, as well as during the events of “Ebb and Flow” the Bedouin community has paid a heavy price in the lives of its sons who have fallen in duty.

Furthermore, insisted the Chief of the General Staff, this case does not cloud the long relationship between the IDF and the Bedouin community.
