A four-day summer camp for Palestinian children suffering from cancer concluded last Thursday (July 5). The camp, organized by the Civil Administration, hosted 24 children from the Gaza Strip, as well as their families.
The summer camp, located in the Jordan Park, offered horseback riding, music workshops, and a variety of other fun activities for the participants.
Ms. Dalia Basa, the Civil Administration health coordinator, arranged the children’s arrival with the park’s administration after verifying that its facilities and health infrastructure met their specific needs.
“We were happy to see how the children were able to somewhat forget about their illness and connect to the experience of summer camp and summer vacation, as children do in Israel and around the world,” Ms. Basa said. She added that the various groups of children and adolescents went on trips to sites within Israel every day.
She also stated that every year interest in summer camps, workshops, and field days that include trips to Israeli attractions grows every year.
