On Tuesday morning (July 19), contact was made between Israeli naval vessels and the “Al-Karame” ship.
The naval vessels notified the “Al-Karame” that it is on a route leading to an area under a maritime security blockade off the coast of Gaza and reminded it that any supplies it may have on-board may be transferred legally to Gaza through the Ashdod Port and existing land crossings.
Naval forces are currently conducting a dialogue with the passengers of the “Al-Karame” in an attempt to persuade them from approaching the Gaza coast. The navy will permit the ship and its passengers to turn back at any point it chooses before soldiers board the ship.
The Israel Navy will prevent the “Al-Karame” from reaching the Gaza Strip and will continue to enforce the security blockade of Gaza, in accordance with the orders of the Israeli government.
