The Czech Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Jiri Sedivy, will today, 29 November, begin a three-day visit to Israel, as a guest of the Chief of the IDF General Staff, Lieutenant General Shaul Mofaz.
During the visit, the Czech Chief of the General Staff and his entourage- including senior officers of the Czech army, will meet with the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Shaul Mofaz, with the head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Giora Eiland, and Deputy Minister of Defense, Dr. Ephraim Sneh.
The guests will visit the defense industries, Israel Aircraft Industries and Rafael.
They will also be visiting the Golan Heights, an IAF air force base, Yad Vashem Memorial in Jerusalem, and the Armor Corps Museum at Latrun.
The Czech Chief of Staff has served in his position since May of 1998. The Lieutenant General is a graduate of the U.S. Army School, and served in various positions in the Czech tank corps. Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, he served as commander of the Czech ground forces.
