Last night (22 Nov.) an Israeli navy command post identified a Palestinian fishing boat sailing within a restricted area. A navy “Dabur” ship on patrol was sent toward the fishing boat for purposes of identification. When the ship approached the fishing boat the sailors noticed two suspicious figures aboard it. Following a number of failed attempts to contact the fishing boat, water was sprayed toward the boat to force it to leave the restricted area. This method proved ineffective, and the navy ship was forced to fire warning shots into the air and near the fishing boat, which remained in the restricted area.

A few minutes later, during which the Israel Navy ship was trying to contact the fishing boat, an explosion occurred on the fishing boat, resulting in the moderate injury of three IDF sailors and the light injury of one further sailor. The navy ship sailed to the nearby beach, and from there the sailors were taken to receive medical treatment.
