Gaza Division trains in providing battlefield medical care

Among other things, course dealt with incorporating lessons of previous operations

On Monday (November 21), the IDF (Zahal)’s Gaza Division engaged in a unique training program that dealt with preparing the division for providing medical assistance during operational events in the Gaza sector.

The purpose of the course was to learn from past cases in order to better prepare for the future, in the areas of evacuation and providing medical care in the field.

Around 200 commanders from all parts of the Medical Corps participated in the course, which was led by Chief Medical Officer Brigadier General Itzik Kreis and Gaza Division Commander Brigadier General Yossi Bachar. Among other things, the course dealt with incorporating lessons from Operation Cast Lead and the Second Lebanon War.

During the course, a number of armored evacuation vehicles were displayed.
