On Friday morning (Dec. 11), a five-day old Palestinian baby suffering from heart deficiency was transferred from the Nassri Hospital in the Gaza Strip to the Tel HaShomer Hospital in Tel Aviv. The girl needed to be treated immediately and is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Tel HaShomer Hospital.
The head of the Gaza District Coordination Office (DCO), Col. Moshe Levy emphasizes: “This is an example of the numerous cases the DCO processes every day, out of our obligation to support and save human life as part of the humanitarian policy of the State of Israel.”
Col. Levy explains that “the District Coordination Office constantly organizes the transfer of Gazan patients to Israeli hospitals,” and stresses that the matter is of central importance.
From the beginning of 2009, approximately 10,000 patients and their escorts have been transferred from the Gaza Strip to receive medical treatment in Israel and in the Judea and Samaria region.
