On Tuesday (July 14) in violation of UN resolution 1701, an arsenal of terrorist organization Hezbollah exploded in the village of Hirbit Salim inside Lebanon. According to resolution 1701 it is prohibited to store weapons in that area. The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear, but the size of the explosion and the destruction it left thereafter, shows that Hezbollah was storing many weapons including rockets. After the explosion civilians and Lebanese soldiers were spotted clearing weapons and rockets that were scattered in the area.

On Wednesday (July 15) “UNIFIL considers the incident a serious violation of UN resolution 1701, especially a violation of the provision which prohibits unauthorized weapons in the area of operations between Litani River and blue line,” UNIFL Spokeswoman was quoted as saying.
