A short while ago, IAF aircraft targeted a terrorist in the northern Gaza Strip. The terrorist was concluding preparations to fire a rocket at Israel. A direct hit was confirmed.

Earlier today, IDF (Zahal) artillery forces and IAF aircraft targeted a Hamas terrorist squad in the Gaza Strip. The squad was in position to launch an anti-tank missile at IDF (Zahal) soldiers performing routine activity near the security fence. A hit was confirmed.

Over the past year, nearly 400 rockets that were fired from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel.

Earlier this week, Yad Mordechai, an Israeli community in southern Israel, came under heavy fire from the Gaza Strip. A restaurant and a vehicle were damaged.

The IDF (Zahal) will not tolerate any attempt by terrorist groups to target Israeli civilians and IDF (Zahal) soldiers, and will continue to operate against those who use terror against the State of Israel. The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.
