In a joint operation of the IDF (Zahal) and Israel Security Agency, Israel Air Force aircraft on early Monday morning (July 18) targeted a terrorist cell in the southern Gaza Strip that was planning an attack on IDF (Zahal) forces.

A direct hit was identified.

On Saturday, IAF aircraft targeted a terrorist in northern Gaza who was attempting to launch a projectile into Israel.

A number of attempts to harm Israeli citizens via rocket fire from the Gaza Strip have occurred in recent weeks.

In response to such attacks, the IAF struck terrorist targets in Gaza five times last week. Targets included smuggling and infiltration tunnels used by terrorists.

The IDF (Zahal) will not tolerate any attempt to harm IDF (Zahal) soldiers and Israeli civilians and will respond decisively at the appropriate time and place.

The IDF (Zahal) holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for all terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.
