IDF (Zahal) soldiers secured an approved and coordinated entrance of approximately 1,400 worshipers to Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus last night (November 23). The visit was arranged by Samaria Regional Council and the ‘One Nablus’ Foundation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Affairs, Eli Yishai, and other public figures attended the event as well.
During the visit, a Palestinian began throwing rocks at IDF (Zahal) soldiers that were securing the worshipers. The Palestinian was arrested by security forces. Additionally, 13 Israelis attempting to enter the Tomb illegally were arrested by the Israel Police.
IDF (Zahal) sources stress that any illegal attempt to enter the Tomb endangers the worshipers and distracts IDF (Zahal) soldiers from their main mission to defend civilians living in Judea and Samaria. Legal action will be taken against the culprits.
