Following a special assessment held by the Judea and Samaria Division Commander, Brig. Gen. Hagai Mordechai, the incident during which six Palestinians were injured was deemed severe.
What is believed to be a firebomb was hurled at taxi, near Bat A’in in Judea and Samaria, injuring its passengers. The inured Palestinians were evacuated to the Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem for additional medical treatment.
Also during the assessment, Brig. Gen. Mordechai noted the importance of concluding the investigation in order to bring those responsible to justice. He has instructed IDF (Zahal) and Border Police forces operating in the region to raise their alert level and reinforce specific locations where clashes are known to occur.
Brig. Gen. Mordechai concluded that the incident, which is being regarded with severity, is a potential threat to de-stabilizing the area, especially during such a time period.
According to military sources, the main lead in the investigation suggests that Israeli civilians were responsible for the incident.
