An IDF soldier was killed this afternoon (25 January) from a missile fired at an IDF outpost in the western sector of the security zone in south Lebanon. The family of the fallen soldier has been notified. The missile fire came from the outskirts of the village of Al-Mansouri outside of the security zone, which constitutes a serious violation of the Grapes of Wrath Understandings. At the same time, mortar bombs, missiles and recoilless artillery, and snipers fired at an IDF and SLA outpost in the central sector and at a number of SLA outposts in the western sector of the security zone in south Lebanon. No one was injured from this fire although slight damage was caused to a vehicle in one of the outposts. IDF tanks returned fire toward the sources of the fire. The Hizbullah organization claimed responsibility for the incidents.
