In a joint IDF (Zahal)- ISA operation late Wednesday night (Oct. 7), IAF aircraft struck two terror targets in the northern Gaza Strip. Direct hits were identified.
This strike is in response to yesterday’s rocket fire from the Gaza Strip aimed at the Eshkol Regional Council, whereby two Qassam rockets were fired at towns in the western Negev. One rocket landed near a kibbutz in the Eshkol Regional Council, and the second rocket landed within the Gaza Strip. The rocket-alert siren was sounded throughout towns near the Eshkol Regional Council.
Over 160 rockets and mortars have been fired at Israeli territory since the beginning of 2010.
The IDF (Zahal) remains committed to protecting the citizens of Israel and will continue to act against terror. The IDF (Zahal) holds Hamas solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.
