IDF forces operating in Nablus uncovered an extremely large explosive lab in the Askar refugee camp in Nablus. The lab was used by terrorists for the production of explosive charges and bombs.

The following were uncovered in the lab: five “Claymore” charges in different stages of preparation, a hollow charge ready for use containing 10-15 kg. of explosives, the preparation of an explosive charge for use against armored combat vehicles, dozens of various sized explosive charges, comprising of screws, pieces of metal, switches, batteries, and various parts of explosive belts.

In addition, large quantities of various chemicals were found in the lab, among them tens of kilograms of TATP explosives. A large number of new bags and women’s clothes were found in one of the rooms in the lab. These were apparently meant to help smuggle the charges and carry out the terror attacks. The lab was exploded in a controlled manner by IDF forces.

During IDF operations in Nablus in the past month, 108 wanted Palestinians have been arrested, among them 5 senior terrorists. In addition, 11 terrorists planning to carry out suicide attacks in Israel, were arrested.

The IDF will continue to operate in order to protect the safety of the citizens of the State of Israel.
