IDF (Zahal) forces discovered 2000 bullets in a Palestinian car near a crossing northeast of Bethlehem on Monday (June 27). The ammunition was confiscated and a suspect was taken in for questioning.
On Sunday (June 26), five Palestinians suspected of terrorist activity were arrested in the West Bank and taken in for questioning.
The IDF (Zahal) and security forces continuously uncover and arrest operatives planning terrorist attacks on and kidnappings of Israeli civilians and soldiers. On Monday (June 27), the Israel Security Agency (ISA) arrested approximately two dozen operatives of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) who were part of terrorist cells in the Jerusalem area.
According to the ISA, the cells were planning to kidnap an IDF (Zahal) soldier, carry out a number of shooting attacks in the Ramallah area and conduct a bombing attack in Jerusalem, possibly at a hotel in the city.
These cells are similar to a few recently discovered by the IDF (Zahal), one in April, 2011, and another in December, 2010.
