An Israeli civilian was stabbed by a Palestinian terrorist today (Tuesday, January 29) at the Tapuah Junction. The victim was injured moderately in the incident.

The victim received first aid treatment at the scene and was then tranported to a hospital for continuing medical treatment.

The perpetrator was arrested by security forces.

Recent weeks have seen a rise in attempts by Palestinian terrorists to carry out attacks in Judea and Samaria. IDF (Zahal) and other security forces have arrested a number of the perpetrators.

According to statistics released by the Israel Security Agency (ISA, or Shin Bet security service), 2012 was the first year in roughly four decades in which no Israeli civilian was killed in the Judea and Samaria region. However, recent weeks have seen a 42-percent increase in the frequency of terror incidents in the region, including gunfire, the laying of explosives and the use of grenades.
