IDF (Zahal) paramedic Anastasia Begdlov exhibited bravery and perseverance, treating passengers injured in bus attack during massive string of terror attacks last August

Military decoration awarded to IDF (Zahal) paramedic, Anastasia Begdlov, currently a cadet in officers’ course, on Sunday (April 1) by Head of the IAF Manpower Department, Brig. Gen. Ilan Boger at the Uvda Airbase. IAF Commander, Maj. Gen. Ido Nechushtan attended the event as well.

Begdlov received the decoration for her brave act during the August (2011) string of terror attacks, which included terrorists firing at a civilian bus on Route 12 along the Israel-Egypt border. Over all during the attacks, eight Israelis were killed and dozens more were injured. Among the passengers on the bus, cadet Begdlov provided initial medical care to the injured passengers with great determination, using improvised equipment. She saved the life of a severely injured passenger by applying an arterial tourniquet to his knee using her bra, while she herself was injured in her arms and legs from shards resulting from the terrorist gunfire.

Cadet Anastasia Beglov acted with bravery and perseverance in treating the passengers injured on the bus, creatively taking initiative to save lives. The IDF (Zahal) is proud to award her a military decoration.
