On Monday (October 24), Brigadier General Uzi Moscovitch was appointed as the new head of the C4I Branch and promoted to the rank of major general.

The C4I Branch is responsible for teleprocessing and communications in the IDF (Zahal).

Moscovitch replaces Major General Ami Shafran, who headed the C4I Branch for the past five years and will soon retire from the IDF (Zahal) after 40 years of service.

A ceremony, attended by Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz, was held at the Kirya in Tel Aviv to mark the appointment.

Lt. Gen. Gantz talked about the importance of the C4I Branch, saying it is involved in everything the IDF (Zahal) does.

“I think you will be able to lead your people in the best way possible to the highest place,” Lt. Gen. Gantz told the new C4I head.
