According to a monthly report by the Israel Security Agency (ISA), Israel saw a significant decrease in number of attacks in the month of October – 44 in all – as opposed to September’s 88 attacks.

According to the ISA, October saw the lowest number of attacks since the beginning of 2010. The decrease was seen most in the Jerusalem area (six attacks as opposed to September’s 31) and near the Gaza Strip (18 attacks as opposed to September’s 38). In the Judea and Samaria region, the number of attacks has remained about the same (20 attack as opposed to September’s 19). In most attacks in the Judea and Samaria region, Molotov cocktails were used.

In terms of civilian deaths or injuries due to terror attacks, this month, too, saw no deaths. One Israeli, however, a member of security forces, was injured in a Molotov cocktail attack in Jerusalem. During the month of September, six Israelis were injured. Rocket attacks saw the most significant decrease among high-trajectory missiles fired toward Israel (three launched as opposed to 16 in September).

In the month of October 2010, three rockets and 20 mortars shells were launched at Israel (in 13 attacks overall) while in September 16 rockets and 23 mortar shells were launched at Israel (in 30 attacks overall).
