President Shimon Peres on Sunday (August 21) paid condolence visits the homes of the families of Staff Sergeant Moshe Naftali and Chief Warrant Officer Pascal Avrahami who were killed while responding to the terrorist attacks that took place last Thursday near Eilat in southern Israel.

Naftali served in the Golani Brigade.

“[Moshe] represented the values of an entire young generation – devotion to truly loving the land of Israel, courageously serving the people and a willingness to sacrifice their lives for the security of Israel and its citizens,” Peres told Naftali’s parents.

Avrahami was a sniper in the elite Yamam anti-terror unit.

Peres met Avrahami during a visit to the Yamam unit a half a year ago.

“[Pascal] was a devoted, brave and humble man who was a legend among younger fighters,” Peres said. “We all feel a sense of loss. [Pascal] was a great son and father and a brave fighter who saved many lives.”
