Peres: We pray for a good year for the entire Jewish people

President Shimon Peres and Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz visited a Golani Brigade exercise on Tuesday (September 27) and talked with soldiers to mark the upcoming Jewish New Year holiday.

“On Rosh Hashanah, thousands of mothers, fathers and children will sit at the holiday table and thank you deeply for your contribution to Israel’s security,” Peres told the soldiers. “You carry with you hope for the peace and security of the people of Israel and the entire nation thanks you. I wish to you Golani soldiers, all IDF (Zahal) soldiers, and the entire people of Israel that this will be a year of true security, blessed peace and social justice. We pray for a good year for the entire Jewish people.”

Lt. Gen. Gantz talked about the security challenges facing the IDF (Zahal), saying that those challenges are growing on all fronts.

President Peres and Lt. Gen. Gantz wished the soldiers a happy, quiet and successful new year.
