As of this afternoon (14 May), Palestinian prisoners at the Megido Prison have been disturbing the peace.
The disturbances began on Independence Day, when the prisoners held a protest march, which was stopped by the commander of the military prison. The prisoners also held a hunger strike as part of the protest.
As said, beginning this afternoon (14 May) the prisoners began their protest within the prison and refused to disperse in spite of orders by the commanders of the prison. The prisoners began to throw objects at the military policemen in the prison and began burning their tents. Fire trucks were sent to put out the fire.
During the event a military policeman was lightly wounded and treated on the spot. Two prisoners were also lightly wounded.
