Colonel Ilan Paz will be appointed Commander of the Ramallah Brigade, this morning, in the Central Command, and will replace Colonel Gal Hirsh, who is being assigned as the Operations Officer of the Central Command. The replacement ceremony will be held in Nebi Samuel.

Colonel Paz was enlisted into Flotilla 13, and served in several command positions in the unit. Paz served as Commander of the Menasheh Brigade and as a Commander in the Airforce.
In addition, he learned oriental studies and was a student in the military academy in Paris.
Colonel Paz is married to Alona and is father of four.

Colonel Gal Hirsh began his service as a soldier in the Paratrooper’s reconnaissance unit, served in served in several command positions in the said Brigade throughout the battles in Lebanon. Hirsh commanded a company of cadets in IDF’s officer’s school, as well as a unit in the Air force.
During his position as the Operations Officer of the West Bank division, Colonel Hirsh was seriously wounded from a stone thrown at his vehicle, and for a year he went through rehabilitation in a hospital.
Following this he returned to normal service and commanded the Ramallah brigade for the last two years.
The Colonel holds a first degree in Middle East studies and a second degree in Business Administration, is married to Donna and father to two.
