Two rockets were launched on Friday evening (February 17) from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel.

The IDF (Zahal) views these terrorist acts, which were meant to harm Israeli citizens and communities, gravely. The Hamas terrorist group, which carries out terrorist acts against Israel, is endangering Gaza residents and will be responsible for any future action that the IDF (Zahal) chooses to take to remove the threat of terrorism and restore relative calm to the region.

Also on Friday evening, a RPG anti-tank missile was fired at IDF (Zahal) forces on the Israel-Gaza border. The border fence was damaged in the incident.

As additional IDF (Zahal) forces arrived at the scene, an explosive device was activated within Gaza territory. No IDF (Zahal) soldiers were injured and the IDF (Zahal) responded with tank fire.
