An additional IAF relief plane left this afternoon for India. The Chief IDF Medical Officer, Maj. Gen. Dr. Giora Martinovitz, joined the flight in order to visit his officers, doctors and soldiers who are now in India, and monitor personally the activities of the medical aid mission.
The plane is carrying complimentary equipment and medical supplies, required for the operation of the field hospital established by the IDF in the city of Boj in India. The equipment includes tents, stretchers, medical equipment and supplies that are vital in order to treat the illnesses of the earthquake victims. So far the IDF field hospital has treated 204 wounded men and women. Twenty people are currently committed in the hospital.
