The morning (19 October) saw disturbances and demonstrations by Palestinians at a number of sites: In the area of the District Coordination Offices in the northern Gaza Strip, at Neztarim junction, at Gush Katif junction, and near the Jewish settlement of Neve Dekalim, in the Gush Katif region. In some of these incidents, rioters threw petrol bombs and stones toward IDF positions and burned tires. Due to the disturbances at the junctions, the roads leading into the Jewish settlement of Netzarim and into Gush Katif were closed for a short time, until the rioters were dispersed. IDF soldiers used demonstration dispersal measures whenever their lives were in danger.
During the afternoon, some 350 Palestinians gathered near the Erez crossing and the industrial area and threw petrol bombs and stones at an IDF position at the site. IDF soldiers responded with demonstration dispersal measures.
