Violent events and shooting incidents continued tonight throughout the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The West Bank
An IDF soldier was lightly wounded by stones thrown at him in the area of the village of Beit Omer north of Hebron. The soldier was treated on the scene and released.
Shots were fired this evening towards an Israeli vehicle on the south Nablus bypass road in the area of the village of Khalil. An IDF force on the scene returned fire to the sources of the shooting. Also, shots were fired towards an IDF force in the area of the Halhul junction south of Hebron. The source of the fire was not identified and therefore the force did not return fire. In both events there were no casualties and no damage was done.
Additionally, stone throwing events took place in many locations including the Beit Omer junction (south-west of Betlehem), the Halhul bypass road (north of Hebron), Abu Dis, the Husan bypass road and near the police station in Ariel.
The Gaza Strip
Shots were fired towards an IDF position on the Israeli Egyptian border near Rafah this evening. Our forces returned fire. Also, stones and petrol bombs were thrown towards another IDF position. Our forces responded with crowd-dispersing means. In addition, shots were fired towards two IDF positions in Gush Katif and towards an IDF force on the rout surrounding the area. There were no casualties among our forces in these events.
The IDF continues to act with restraint and in accordance to the agreements. Still, the IDF will follow any developments and will act to return the situation to normal.
