As part of the ongoing war against terror and its infrastructure, IDF forces demolished tonight in Beit Rima the house of Abdallah J’amal, a senior engineer and one of the former leaders of Hamas in Ramallah. J’amal planned, organized, and in some cases, manufactured explosives for a number of terrorist attacks, including:

Suicide bombing in the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem on August 9, 2003, that killed 15 civilians and wounded over 100 additional people.

Suicide bombing and a booby trapped car in Jerusalem on December 1, 2001, that killed 6 civilians and wounded an additional 150 people.

Suicide bombing in the “Moment” Cafe in Jerusalem on March 9, 2001, that killed 11 civilians and wounded an additional 58 people.

Suicide bombing in a billiard hall in Rishon Letzion, on May 7, 2002, that killed 15 civilians and wounded an additional 46 people. Suicide bombing in Hebrew University in Jerusalem on July 31, 2002, that killed 9 civilians and wounded an additional 85 people.

Demolishing the houses of terrorists is a message to suicide terrorists and their partners in terrorist activities that their actions have a price that will be paid by all those involved in hostile terrorist action. The IDF will continue to use all available legal means to strike at terrorists, their senders, and all those who assist them.
