“In these times, more than ever, we are committed to maintain the moral strength, to act according to our values and to connect all the components of the good in the center of the human being” – thus said the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, on Tuesday (Sept. 8) at the graduation ceremony of the Tactical Command and Staff College, that was held in the college itself in the Galilee.

The Chief of the General Staff added that “the commander is expected to be a role model, his behavior portraying leadership, example and excellence.” To the young commanders in the audience he said: “You are entering your new positions in a crucial period of time of regional changes, in which the IDF (Zahal) will continue to improve in the face of all those who seek to destroy us and have not yet accepted Israel’s existence.”

68 male and female officers completed the course on Tuesday evening (Sept. 8) after two years of training; following the course, the young officers (Lieutenants and Captains) will assume their positions in their respective Commands. During the course, the officers go through intensive studies including a Bachelor’s degree as well as Company Commanders Course and field training.

This year, the Tactical Command and Staff College celebrates a decade of training young officers of the Ground Forces to command battalions and artillery batteries in all of its branches.
