The body of the Lebanese pilot who infiltrated Israel in a Cessna airplane on 24 May this year and was shot down over Michmoret, was returned to representatives of the Red Cross in Lebanon through the Rosh Haniqra crossing by Red Cross representatives in Israel.

On May 24 this year a Cessna plane that took off from Beirut crossed the Israel-Lebanon border. Israeli Air-Force planes that accompanied the Cessna from the moment that it crossed the border, tried to signal and make contact with the plane in any possible way according to international procedures. Since the pilot did not identify himself and did not heed the instructions from the accompanying planes, the plane was shot down by the Israeli Air-Force near Michmoret, and the Lebanese pilot was killed.
