A short while ago, IDF (Zahal) forces discovered two pipe bombs in the belongings of two Palestinians at the Hawara checkpoint, south of Nablus. The bombs were detonated in a controlled manner by IDF (Zahal) sappers and the Palestinians were transferred to security forces for questioning.

During the night, IDF (Zahal) forces discovered a 12-centimer-long knife in the belongings of a Palestinian at the Tapuach checkpoint, south of Nablus. The knife was confiscated and the Palestinian was transferred to security forces. In addition, IDF (Zahal) forces arrested 12 wanted Palestinians during the night in the Judea and Samaria region. Four wanted Palestinians were arrested in the Nablus area, six were arrested in the Ramallah area and the last two were arrested in the Bethlehem area. All of the suspects were transferred to security forces for questioning.

Meanwhile, in a joint IDF (Zahal)-ISA operation late Wednesday night (Oct. 7) IAF aircraft struck two terror targets in the northern Gaza Strip. Direct hits were identified.

This strike is in response to yesterday’s rocket fire from the Gaza Strip aimed at the Eshkol Regional Council, whereby two Qassam rockets were fired at towns in the western Negev. One rocket landed near a kibbutz in the Eshkol Regional Council, and the second rocket landed within the Gaza Strip. The rocket-alert siren was sounded throughout towns near the Eshkol Regional Council.
