Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is scheduled to address the Knesset plenum on Monday, January 20. Harper will be leading a delegation of some 200 people, including politicians and journalists.
The Canadian PM will be the second speech will be the second head of a large country to address the 19th Knesset since the establishment. French President Francois Hollande spoke at the plenum on November 18, 2013.
Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein said of Harper`s visit: ”I am happy and proud to host the prime minister of Canada, a brave and true friend to Israel, at the Knesset. Canada’s governmental and public support for Israel has been unwavering and encouraging throughout our history. I have no doubt that this important visit is a celebration of fraternity for the two countries and I believe that it will further strengthen the ties between them.”
