The Ministry of Health announces the destruction of fish at the “Beit Hadag” store at 8 Adoniahu Hacohen street in the Bucharan market in Jerusalem

On January 29, 2013 a joint inspection was conducted by the district health bureau Jerusalem and the municipal veterinary department at the Beit hadag store at 8 Adoniahu Hacohen street in the Bucharan market in Jerusalem.
The inspection found spoiled fish products, unmarked or whose source was unknown. Storing and sale of the products in this manner, without the statutorily mandated conditions and permits, may be harmful to public health.
Under the instructions of the Jerusalem district veterinarian surgeon in the Ministry of Health, a warrant was issued for the destruction of foodstuffs for about 50 kg of fish and fish products.
The Ministry of Health, together with the municipal veterinary department, will continue to take enforcement measures including legal action against the food establishment.
