The Ministry of Health announces the destruction of meat at a Haifa butcher shop On January 21, 2013 a joint inspection was conducted by the district health bureau Haifa and the municipal veterinary department at the Dabach butcher shop on Hameginim Street, Haifa. Meat and poultry products are sold at this establishment.

The inspection found products whose expiry date had passed, unmarked products and products which were kept without the statutorily mandated conditions and permits for their manufacture, storage and marketing – in a manner which may be harmful to the public health.
Under the instructions of the Haifa district veterinarian surgeon in the Ministry of Health, a warrant was issued for the destruction of foodstuffs for about 230 kg of meat and poultry.
The Ministry of Health will continue to take enforcement measures including legal action against the food establishment.
