This month, 1047 truckloads of materials were delivered for projects. Also, 3 million cubic meters of water were allocated from Israel  to improve the quantity and quality of the drinking water in Gaza.

The following is a report on the civilian and humanitarian activities carried out by the Israeli authorities during the month of July 2011:

Main Points
–  There was a 4% decrease in the volume of truckloads transferred through the crossings comparison with last month.  
–  There was a 7% increase in the number of patients and accompanying individuals who entered Israel for medical purposes.
–  Until today 163 projects founded by the international community have been approved, of which 35 were completed and 57 are under implementation.
–  During the month, coordination with representatives of the PA continued – 44 meetings were held.
–  Increase of 5.5% in the number of foreign staff members of the international community that entered Gaza this month.      

–  Israel approved additional measures towards the Gaza Strip in honor of the Ramadan period:
o Allocation of an additional 3 million cubic meters of water from Israel to Gaza, in order to improve the quantity and quality of drinking water for the population in the Gaza Strip.
o Import of construction materials for 10 private-sector factories in Gaza, under the supervision of the international community.
o Change of address of over 1,900 Gaza residents, who actually live in Judea and Samaria.
o Textile and furniture exports and expansion of the range of agricultural exports to Jordan.
o Expanding the number of merchants approved to enter Israel and Judea and Samaria.

Movement and Permits
3,662 Palestinians exited the Gaza Strip through Erez Crossing. 
Overall, 3,843 permits were issued to Palestinians, allowing them to cross through Erez, including:
o 1,752 permits for medical cases (888 patients and 864 accompanying individuals), enabling them to receive medical treatment in Israel, the West Bank and abroad;
o 120 permits for international organizations employees. 
1,300 businessmen exited the Gaza Strip.

Project Implementation
  International projects status: Up to today, 163 projects have been approved, of which 35 have been completed and 57 are being implemented.
–  1,047 truckloads were delivered in July for 36 projects under implementation, in coordination with the international organizations.
 
Infrastructure
During the month 133 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for 8 water and sewage projects out of the 42 approved infrastructure projects (so far, 6 projects have been completed).
–  Establishment of water reservoir and pumping station in Al Rahma (USAID) – 32 truckloads of aggregates were delivered.
–  Establishment of water reservoir in Tel Sultan (UNDP) – One truckload of aggregates was delivered.
–  The Northern Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) – Part B (World Bank) – 19 truckloads of equipment were delivered this month.
–  Upgrading of the WTP in Shiekh Ajlin (KFW) – 41 truckloads of aggregates and other equipment were delivered this month.
–  Water pipelines in Dir El Balah (parts 3and 5) (UNRWA) – 4 truckloads of equipment were delivered.
–  Reconstruction of Saka bridge in Waddi Gaza (UNDP) – 4 truckloads of equipment were delivered.
–  Reconstruction of Juhar Al Dik bridge in Waddi Gaza (UNDP) – 3 truckloads of equipment were delivered.
–  Upgrading the electric network in Gaza (UNDP) – 29 truckloads of equipment were delivered.

Housing Projects
During the month 778 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for 6 housing projects out of the 13 approved housing projects (so far, 4 projects have been completed).
–  Construction of 223 housing units in Khan Yunis (UNRWA) – 333 truckloads of iron and cement were delivered this month.
–  Construction of 200 housing units in Khan Yunis (UNDP) – 12 truckloads of cement and aggregates were delivered this month.
–  Construction of 147 housing units in Gaza (UNDP) – 2 truckloads of cement and iron were delivered this month.
–  Construction of 752 housing units in Khan Yunis (UNRWA) – 69 truckloads of cement and iron were delivered this month.
–  Construction of 271 housing units in Tel Sultan (UNRWA) – 261 truckloads of cement and iron were delivered this month.
–  Construction of 41 housing units in Gaza (UNRWA) – 101 truckloads of cement and iron were delivered this month.

Education Projects
During the month 46 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for 8 education projects out of the 62 approved education projects (so far, 10 projects have been completed).
–  Establishment of 2 schools in Tel Allwa  (#12) (UNRWA) – 7 truckloads of aggregates, cement and other equipment were delivered this month.
–  Establishment of 2 schools in Tel Allwa (#13) (UNRWA) –14 truckloads of aggregates, cement and iron were delivered this month.
–  Reconstruction of boys’ school in Beit Lahiya (UNRWA) – 5 truckloads of equipment were delivered this month.
–  Establishment of a school in Ma’an (UNRWA) – 2 truckloads of cement were delivered this month.
–  Establishment of girls’ school in Khan Yunis and supply of equipment (UNRWA) – 5 truckloads were delivered.
–  Establishment of school in Nutzriyat (UNRWA) – 6 truckloads of cement were delivered this month.
–  Establishment of a public library in "Fahurah" school in Gebalyah (UNRWA) – 4 truckloads aggregates were delivered.
–  Reconstruction of YMCA library in Gaza (USAID) – 3 truckloads of equipment were delivered.   

Agriculture Projects
During the month 20 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for 2 agriculture projects out of 16 approved (so far, 5 projects have been completed).
–  Establishment of 40 cooling units in northern Gaza (UNDP) – 3 truckloads of aggregates were delivered this month.
–  Establishment of 60 cooling units in northern Gaza (UNDP) – 17 truckloads of aggregates were delivered this month. 

Health Projects
During the month 15 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for 5 health projects out of 13 approved (the first project was completed this month).
–  Establishment of clinic in Khan Yunis (UNRWA) – 6 truckloads of cement and iron were delivered. 
–  Reconstruction of "Al Hali" hospital (USAID) – One truckload was transferred.
–  Establishment of clinic in Saftawi (UNRWA) – 5 truckloads of equipment were transferred.
–  Reconstruction of the European hospital in Kahan Yunis (Belgium) – 2 truckloads were delivered.
–  Supplies for Hospital in Gaza (USAID) – One truckload was transferred. 

Roads Projects
During the month 80 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for 6 roads projects out of the 9 approved roads projects.
–  Reconstruction of Abed Al Hay rode in Al Musdar (USAID) – 8 truckloads of aggregates were delivered.
–  Work on "Al Salam" road in Al Musader (UDAID) – 4 truckloads of Aggregates were delivered.
–  Work on Abu Zalah road in Absan (UDAID) – 6 truckloads of aggregates were delivered.
–  Work on "Jurat Alut" road (UNDP) – 33 truckloads of aggregates were delivered.
–  Work on main rode in Dir Al Balah (UNDP) – 24 truckloads were transferred this month
–  Work on road no. 19 in Absan (USAID) – 5 truckloads of aggregates were delivered.

Other Projects
During the month 2 truckloads of construction materials and equipment were delivered for one project out of 18 approved (so far, 9 projects have been completed).
–  Developing beach in Dir Al Balah (UNDP) – 2 truckloads of aggregates were delivered. 

Humanitarian Infrastructure
–  Israel maintained a continuous supply of electricity and water to the Gaza Strip.
–  3 truckloads of equipment were delivered for the electric network.

International Organizations
–  During the month 39 diplomatic delegations entered the Gaza strip.  
–  120 foreign staff members of international organizations crossed. 
 –  149 Palestinian international organizations employees crossed.
–  13.5 million USD were transferred for UNRWA.
–  1291 truckloads were delivered for the international organizations.

Crossings Activity

  During the month, 4,983 truckloads were delivered into the Gaza Strip through Kerem Shalom Crossing, including:
o 58 truckloads of clothing and footwear;
o 147 truckloads of electric products;
o 1,443 truckloads of food;
o 1,291  truckloads of construction materials;
o 98 truckloads of inputs for agriculture.
       During the month, 156 vehicles were transferred into Gaza (1,851 vehicles have been transferred until today). 
       The transfer of cooking gas continued throughout the month;  3,372 tons of cooking gas were transferred into the Gaza Strip.
