The government law, which was reworded following a Supreme Court ruling, is expected to pass its first reading in the Knesset on Monday. If approved, the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee, under chairperson MK Miri Regev (Likud), will commence a marathon of deliberations in order to prepare it for its second and third readings, with the participation of the Internal Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan.

Also on the committee’s agenda: Alternative Housing for Giv’at Amal Residents Bill, the Water Authority’s conduct vis-à-vis the Municipality of Qiryat Gat and the water corporation in the city, and the application of the Tax Ordinance in the West Bank.
