The last IAEA report on Iran clearly reaffirmed that Iran is in violation of the resolution of the Security Council and is promoting its nuclear program.
FM Livni in joint press conference with French FM Bernard Kouchner (18 Nov 2007):
I would like to add a few things about the last IAEA report on Iran, because clearly it is reaffirmed that Iran is in violation of the resolution of the Security Council and is promoting its nuclear program, and this is something that the international community needs to address. Clearly Iran is trying to gain more time. While the international community is talking about sanctions, they are continuing in their attempts to achieve the nuclear weapon. So I believe the determination of the international community is needed, more sanctions by the Security Council plus more sanctions that can enhance the resolutions of the Security Council that can be taken by the Europeans as such or by other members of the international community as states, but also by the private sector. I believe that this is needed – more enhanced, strong and immediate sanctions that can change the situation and the Iranians’ plan.
FM Livni in joint press conference with EU Rep Solana (14 Nov 2007):
There’s a need for broader, more effective sanctions on Iran by the international community in the Security Council – and not only by the Security Council and other members of the international community, but I hope that the private sector in Europe and elsewhere also understand that it’s about the future of the world and not only an Israeli problem. It’s not only about profits but more about the need to meet this dangerous cause coming from Iran and the need to address this challenge by the international community as such.
FM Livni welcomes INTERPOL decision on AMIA bombing (7 Nov :2007)
Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni welcomes the INTERPOL General Assembly decision (7 November) in Marrakesh to issue international arrest warrants for the five Iranians and one Lebanese member of Hizbullah, Imad Moughnieh, implicated in the terror bombing of the AMIA building of the Buenos Aires Jewish community in 1994.
"The link between Iran and world terrorism, for which many innocent people lost their lives, has long been proven, and the time had come for this decision. Iran, its leaders and terror masterminds must know that they will have to pay the price."
