As a part of The Food Service’s routine activities in the Southern Districts and Ashkelon District in the Ministry of Health, “natural fruit concentrates” were found in the marketing channels, without mention of the manufacturer’s name and address.Tests at the Felix Public Health Laboratories (Abu Kabir) show irregularities and non-compliance with statutory requirements. This includes colorants and preservatives which have not been properly marked in the list of ingredients, such that this fact may be misleading to the public.

The product labels bear the inscription: “Marketing and distribution: Beit Yitshak – Isaac Azrad Farm Ltd.”, and occasionally the label reads: “Marketing and distribution: Premium foodline Ltd., Customer Service 04-6350590”.
In spite of the efforts to locate the manufacturing site, the site has not yet been found, and there is a suspicion that the products are manufactured illegally, without a Ministry of Health license and under unknown manufacturing conditions.
The products were found in various locations around the country and have been seized, and it is possible that they are still available in other places.
Following is a list of the products:
  • “Limonana – Natural fruit concentrate” – food color Tartrazine (E102) was found, plus the preservatives benzoic acid (E210) and sorbic acid (E200), not being labeled as required.
  • “Berries – natural fruit concentrate” – food color azorubine (E122) was found, plus preservatives, not being labeled as required.
  • “Pomegranates – natural fruit concentrate” – food color azorubine (E122) was found, without being labeled.
  • “Raspberry concentrate” – food color azorubine (E122) was found, plus preservatives, without being labeled.
  • “Lemonade concentrate, “pomegranate concentrate”, “rosetta concentrate” – preservatives were found, without being labeled.
Legal proceedings are currently under way against persons who have previously been involved in the manufacture of similar products, and in this case as well, the Ministry will proceed to take all measures at its disposal to prevent misleading of the consumers and to prevent violation of food-related laws.
