In keeping with the Passover tradition, Knesset Director-General Ronen Plot on Wednesday sold the parliament`s leavened food to a gentile with the help of Knesset Rabbi Alexander Hochman.
Director-General Plot also decided to hold a clean-up drive in the parliament building on Wednesday, ahead of the Passover holiday.
As part of the drive, Knesset employees were given three plastic bags: A white bag – for paper; blue for soda cans and empty bottles; and black for other waste items. After collecting the waste, the employees placed the bags outside their offices. The bags were then collected and sent to recycling.
”The eve of Passover is the appropriate time to clean up the rooms in the Knesset – before we convene again after the holiday and welcome the members of the 20th Knesset,” Plot said.
