Addressing Tuesday`s death of a Defense Ministry employee by Palestinian sniper fire from Gaza, Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein said the attack ”proves that Hamas and its satellite organizations are determined to harm Israeli citizens, without any connection to their religion or worldview.”

Salah Abu Latif, 22, from the southern Bedouin town of Rahat, was shot dead while he was working on repairs to a section of the Israel-Gaza border fence damaged in last week’s storm.

”The trickle of attacks must stop and life neat Gaza must be stable and safe,” Edelstein said. ”My condolences to the (victim`s) family and to the entire (Bedouin community).”
