Salmonella bacteria has been found in a product labeled as frozen “stuffed cabbages” made by the “Irena” company

As a part of the routine supervisory activities over the marketing channels of the Ashkelon health bureau, Salmonella bacteria was found in a product labeled as frozen “stuffed cabbages” made by the “Irena” company of 10 Habonim Street in Ashdod, bearing the manufacture date of 23/1/2013 and an expiry date of 23/3/2013.
The Salmonella bacteria may cause intestinal infections among humans, although it is destroyed if the food is cooked properly. However, in view of the bacteria being found in the laboratory test, and since the manufacturer’s preparation instructions only specify that the product needs warming up, The Ministry of Health warns the public against using the product.
