In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which fell on Tuesday, Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein held a ceremony at the Theresienstadt concentration camp in the Czech Republic along with other speakers and members of parliaments from around the world.

In his speech, Edelstein said, ”From this place we understand how necessary the State of Israel is and how it is the best proof of the victory of the Jewish nation, as many of the survivors and their children now live in Israel and have taken up key positions within it. As it was then so it is now, the struggle is not just against the Nazi extermination machine or anti-Semitism, but also against the indifference of humanity to the horrors that happened under Nazi rule and the hatred and violence against Jews wherever they are. ”
