Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif (1 September 2015): "The crimes of the Zionist regime as the biggest enemy of peace and security in the region should be exposed and shown to the world."
Following is a compilation of statements made by senior Iranian officials following the 14 July 2015 nuclear deal – the Joint Comprehensive Agreement between Iran and P5+1 (JCPOA). The statements were translated by official Iranian news agencies and wire services.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (17 July 2015):
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Imperialist front and the US as its head were the quintessence of the concept of the ‘enemy.’ "The US has no share of human ethics and morals; their tactics are to perpetrate crime through beautiful words encapsulated in simile and good gestures, which are then utilized to sow discord among the nations in topics as Shias and Sunnis, with the British as the major player, and the US serving as disciples," added the Leader.
Iranian Defense Minister Dehqan (31 August 2015):
According to the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen news network, Dehqan said "Iran has transparently announced that it will continue its financial and spiritual support for resistance movements which want to resist against the US and Zionist regime’s policies."
The news network referred to the resistance movements as Hamas, Hezbollah and Jihad according to Dehqan’s remarks.
Basij Commander Mahmad Reza Naqdi (31 August 2015):
"The White House always supports the world dictators, and our hostility towards the US is profound and may not be resolved through talks."
Naqdi also underscored the US and Israel’s growing failures and defeats on the regional and international scenes, and said, "The Zionist regime is now surrounded by resistance groups and all US bases in the regional states are within the range of the missiles of the Islamic Revolution forces."
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Major General Qassem Soleimani (1 September 2015):
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Major General Qassem Soleimani described ISIS as the US protégé, and cautioned that Washington is doing its best to keep the Takfiri [infidel] terrorist group alive and in power in a bid to use it as a pressure leverage against the Muslim community.
"The US intends to protect the ISIS to make Muslims need the US and it has, in fact, turned it into a leverage (against the Muslims)," Major General Soleimani said, addressing the opening ceremony of the 18th meeting of the Assembly of Experts in Tehran on Tuesday.
He said that ISIS is a US product and protégé, reiterating that the terrorist group was created by Washington.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenai (17 August 2015):
"We would support any party fighting Israel; the resistance in Palestine is a golden chapter of history and we fully support this resistance; the plans to disintegrate Syria and Iraq will not be realized by heavenly interventions," he exclaimed.
Iranian President Rouhani (20 August 2015):
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the desecration (sic) of the Al-Aqsa Mosque (in Jerusalem) more than four decades ago when the Zionists set fire to the Muslims first Qibla, displayed Israel’s savagery and laid emphasis on the necessity for the worldwide Muslim community to keep vigilant. "That event meant that the aggressor and Zionist occupation regime does not respect any social and human principle, doesn’t show mercy to the people, children and women, continues massacre and aggression and even desecrates the Muslim world’s first Qibla and a place which is also respected by other divine religions."
Ali Akbar Velayati, Senior Advisor to the Supreme Leader (29 August 2015):
"Iran will not recognize Israel. We still emphasize that Israel is a usurper and occupying regime and we will not come along with it," Velayati said in a meeting with a religious delegation from Pakistan in Tehran on Saturday.
He expressed pleasure that the Western states’ plots to make the Muslim states recognize Israel have failed, and said, "The Islamic countries have not recognized it and the Palestinian people’s fight should continue until they regain their territories."
Iranian President Rouhani (31 August 2015):
"Certain governments are created based on terrorism and see their survival in light of terrorism and its clear instance is the fake Zionist regime in the Palestinian territories…. The (Israeli) government and regime basically started its job based on intimidation, terrorism and occupation and today it is continuing the same anti-human path," he added.
Vice-Speaker of the Majlis, Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard (31 August 2015):
"We will support any movement that confronts the Zionist regime and its state terrorism," Aboutorabi-Fard told reporters on Monday.
He underlined that Iran supports the Islamic currents that are fighting against terrorism and the Zionists and it takes honor in such support.
Foreign Minister Javad Zarif (1 September 2015):
"The crimes of the Zionist regime as the biggest enemy of peace and security in the region should be exposed and shown to the world," Zarif told reporters in Tunis on Tuesday.
The Iranian foreign minister then asked the Arab countries to help inform the world people of Israel’s crimes. "Israel must be accountable to an international criminal court for the war crimes it has committed against Palestine and Lebanon," Zarif added.
Senior IRGC Commander Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini (2 September 2015):
"They (the US and the Zionists) should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine," IRGC’s top commander in Tehran province, Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini, told operating units in Tharallah Drills in the Iranian capital on Wednesday.
"And we will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, especially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists," continued the General.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenai (9 September 2015):
Discussing the nuclear deal in his speech to a large audience at the Imam Khomeini Mosque, Khamenai referred to some of the agreement’s measures which will remain in place for 25 years. Seizing on that time frame, Khamenei noted that some observers say it should allay Israel’s fears about a nuclear Iran during that time – "’I’d say [to Israel] that they will not see [the end] of these 25 years…God willing, there will be no such thing as a Zionist regime in 25 years. Until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists."
