4,967 truckloads of goods were imported into the Gaza Strip last month, including 1,568 truckloads of construction materials
A total of 4,967 trucks carrying 130,513 tons of goods entered the Gaza Strip from Israel through the Kerem Shalom land crossing in June. The imported goods included 1,568 truckloads of construction materials.
Also last month, 38.5 truckloads of goods were exported from the Gaza Strip for sale in foreign markets. The goods – including packaging equipment, tomatoes, spices and peppers – were first transferred to Israel via the Kerem Shalom crossing and then shipped abroad.
Over the course of the month, 5,777 Palestinians entered Israel through the Erez Terminal pedestrian crossing. Among those who crossed from Gaza into Israel were business people and patients seeking medical care in Israeli hospitals.
Since 2010, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has approved 261 internationally sponsored projects for the benefit of Gaza’s civilian population, of which 90 have already been completed and 81 are currently underway.
