An addition of NIS 75 million in grants to physicians in crisis professions and in peripheral areas was approved for 2016

Thanks to the activities of Minister Yaakov Litzman, an additional NIS 75 million in grants to physicians in crisis and in peripheral areas was approved for 2016.
The Ministry of Finance took the opportunity to announce that it will continue financing the grant program, according to which specialists moving to peripheral areas will be entitled to special grants, as stated in the agreement with the physicians.
Minister Litzman: “Caring for peripheral areas is the top priority in the Ministry of Health’s agenda. Expanding the scope of the benefits for physicians will further strengthen public medicine, in particular in the periphery. We are pleased that the concept of favoring peripheral areas has proven itself. My thanks to the Minister of Finance, Kahlon, for taking on this important issue, and to the Chair of the Finance Committee, Knesset Member Moshe Gafni, for bringing this issue for the approval of the committee.”
