The Ministry of Health announces the destruction of meat and poultry products at the Tel Yizhaq Minimarket (Kibbutz Tel Yizhaq)

On 1-Oct-14, the Central District Health Bureau veterinarian, in conjunction with representatives of the Veterinary Department of the Hof HaSharon Regional Council, conducted an inspection of the Tel Yizhak Minimarket (Kibbutz Tel Yizhaq).
During the inspection, meat and poultry was found that was beyond the expiry date, as well as meat and poultry cuts that were manufactured and stored without license and under poor sanitary conditions.
The processing, storage and marketing of food products without the legally mandated proper conditions may be harmful to public health.
By order of the Central District Health Bureau veterinarian, approximately 950 kg of these meats were destroyed.
The Ministry of Health will take the further enforcement measures, including legal proceedings, against this food business.
