A chance for an Israeli environmental expert to get involved with the future of the Mediterranean Sea… The European Union’s Cross-Border Cooperation Mediterranean program (CBCMED) is seeking to hire a professional to be in charge of the program’s screening procedure and of the Strategic Environmental Assessment for the years 2014-2020. The deadline to apply is January 26, 2015.

Cross-Border Cooperation is an European Neighborhood Policy program that aims to reinforce cooperation between EU member states and partner countries. Its Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme is focused on 14 countries along the shores of the Mediterranean, including Israel.

The Joint Managing Committee is the CBC’s main decision-making body, while the Joint Managing Authority is responsible for operational and financial management of the program. The candidate that is hired will work for the Authority. The candidate must have advanced command of both English and French, as well as previous professional experience in the Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) of at least one EU Cross Border, Transnational or Interregional Cooperation program.
