Starting from the 2015-2016 academic year (next academic year), the Ministry of Health will begin to also provide the vaccine against papilloma virus for boys in 8th grade, in addition to vaccinating the girls.

In parallel with this step, the vaccination regimen will be changed from three to two doses, in view of updated data from the medical literature and in accordance with the registration of the vaccine in the world and in Israel. This step constitutes an additional level of protection in dealing with the virus, and will help to reduce morbidity both in boys and in girls.
Israel thus joins the first line of western countries that provide maximal protection against the virus and the diseases that it causes.
